How to hold your baby
One of the first things you will notice about your baby is that he cannot control his head.  Always hold your baby so his head does not flop from side to side or snap from front to back. When you pick up your baby, use both hands so you can cradle his head. When you carry your baby, support his head and neck with your hand, especially when you carry him upright.

The need to be touched
Babies need to be touched. From the very first moments you are together, you and your baby will form a bond that relies on your touches. Your baby will also react to how you touch her. She’ll sense gentleness and warmth and will probably cry when she’s handled roughly. Don’t be afraid to hold, rock, and cuddle your baby. You can’t spoil a young child, and your baby will know that you love her.
