Are juices okay for weaning infants? Juice should not be introduced into your infant's diet before he or she is at least 6 months of age and has begun to drink from a cup. Babies should not be given juice to drink from a bottle throughout the day, because prolonged sucking of fluids that contain carbohydrates puts them at risk for "nursing-bottle tooth decay." Avoid giving your baby more than 240 mL of juice per day; too much juice may increase the risk of loose stools and diarrhea. Should infants be given supplemental water during
weaning?
