PROMISE GOLD

Vision development continues throughout early childhood. In fact, development of the eyes continues through the first decade of life.

Scientists are learning that a young child’s diet can help visual development.  The fovea—the area of the retina that helps optimize image sharpness—does not mature until at least 4 years of age.  Recent research suggests that intake of the biofactor DHA, which is a major component of the retina, may positively affect visual development.

A recent Wyeth study showed that children from 4 to 7 years of age who received PROMISE GOLD fortified with DHA and AA scored significantly higher on 6 of 9 visual tests than children who did not receive a fortified beverage.

Unfortunately, most foods typically consumed by young children are not good sources of DHA and AA.  A fortified growing-up milk, such as PROMISE GOLD, can be an effective way to provide the young child with a daily source of these important fatty acids.

PROMISE GOLD is also fortified with lutein, an antioxidant biofactor that helps shield and protect developing eyes.  And it contains natural mixed carotenes—biofactors that can convert to vitamin A if necessary.  Vitamin A is necessary for proper vision.
