Emotional changes occur during most pregnancies. Hormones affect mood, and because the levels of hormones in your body rise and fall during pregnancy, so will your mood. It's normal to feel low, cry, panic, or be a bit unsure of yourself. It's also normal to feel extremely happy. Although upsetting in the short run, these changes are to be expected. However, if you have suffered from depression in the past and/or you find that you are sad or angry most of the time over a period of 3 weeks or longer, talk to a health care professional.
