To help your return to work go as smoothly as possible,
here are a few points to consider:
Baby’s checkups/immunizations: Your baby will require lots of checkups and immunizations in the first few months of life. It’s advisable to gain your employer's agreement on getting time allowed for this before you go back to work.
Part time vs. full time: It’s a good idea to investigate your country’s laws regarding part-time work for new moms before making any commitments or decisions.
Feeding method: If you are breastfeeding, will you continue, or do you need to get your baby used to a new routine before you go back to work? See topic Feeding for more information.
Type of child care: For example, if you want a day-care center to look after your child, you may have to book months in advance. You’ll need to check the center’s opening/closing hours before you commit to one, as these need to be compatible with your working hours. See topic Child Care for more information.
